A Wonderful Time Away! Our experience was simply perfect. From booking the room to checking out, staff was kind, professional, and had a sense of humor. Our pups loved the doggie treat boxes that they received upon arrival. The room was perfect: spacious and the view beautiful. While the room overlooked the restaurant, no outside sound penetrated the room. Bed and bedding provided perfect sleeping and napping. Room service was prompt and the food was delicious. Also, our room was next to an elevator and we never heard any noise from it. Bathroom was spotless and towels were soft and fluffy. Spa experience was soothing and rejuvenating. My third visit with Abbey was wonderful. Looking forward to returning again soon!

I could not find one single thing wrong!!!! If you have read any of the reviews I do you will know I am picky, very picky. Saybrook Point Resort is a place that I could find nothing wrong(imagine this is in caps bc TA does not allow caps)!! This place is perfect . Let me start with the staff. Every single staff member made it to greet us (caps again)!! They conveyed genuine warmth from the housekeeping staff to the person at the front desk to the servers in the restaurant.
Without fail and no matter where we were we were greeted.
Check in was seamless and the person behind the desk remembered our name for the two days we were at the resort.
The room was spectacular. I did not want to leave and at one point I just laid on the bed and soaked up the bright white sunny feeling of warmth. Neutral colors and eyebrow windows (we were on 3rd floor). There is a small balcony where one could sun bathe or just enjoy a bottle of wine( hint: do not use the in room snacks the prices are laughable a personal size bag of chips was 6.00. I think they put it in the room for humor).
We ate at the restaurant four times. Two times for breakfast and twice for dinner/lunch. The food is good. We got burgers and they were delicious. I will admit that the restaurant is a little on the high side but the ambiance at the resort is so nice one never wants the hassle of driving to a restaurant in the vicinity. The view is gorgeous.
This resort is spotless(caps again)! I am a stickler for clean and I seek out places that should be dusted. One of my favorite is the mopboard on the floor or window sills. I actually saw housekeeping cleaning the mopboard with Pledge! Call me impressed ! The sheets have that line washed clean smell and clearly hanging on the line is not possible but it was not an artificial spray.
All in all Saybrook Point is as close as I have come this far to perfect.
We made reservations to go back in August. I will admit that during the high season the prices for rooms are high but if you are able to go at the beginning of the week they are reasonable.Gary W6/01/2026 - My son got married here and most of our friends and family stayed here. The service, attention to details, welcoming and genuinely caring staff were beyond measure! Free shuttles to town ( a couple minutes away), fresh coffee in the luxurious lobby and views and space galore! Such an incredible, joyful perfect place and experience! You want the best, come here! If I could give 10 stars, I would!Pamela McNulty5/30/2026
- I attended an event here a week ago, and I was truly impressed with the location, service, food, ambiance, and the beautiful scenery. Everything was well put together, and the atmosphere made the experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place for any special occasion or gathering.Rosemarie Williams5/12/2026

35th Anniversary Get-Away Went with my wife for 2 nights to get away for our Anniversary. We have stayed here before and again we truly enjoyed the atmosphere, amenities and overall experience. We stayed in the main hotel in well-appointed room with a balcony overlooking the pool and marina. Their on-site Fresh Salt restaurant delivered with nice fish selection and a fine NY strip steak that was delicious. It was a great get away and easy travel from Long Island having taken the Port Jefferson Ferry.

Terrific stay over all Rooms are beautifully appointed. Staff is terrific, knowledgeable and helpful. Housekeeping was excellent - we asked for a luggage rack and one was brought up right away. The only drawback would be the room service - I ordered tea in the morning and the hot water was served in a coffee pot which made it taste like coffee.

Great Stay ... a few bits of feedback and an important suggestion We were first timers in your amazing renovated room on the 3rd floor corner(306)! Well done! We do realize might be a few unique to being a new set up.
First of all, the privacy buttons must be explained. Especially that if you don't turn them on, no service. Secondly, it took a VERY long time to get hot water. We mentioned it and they thought there might have been a re-circulating value issue.
Yet, it was the entire time. The TV control and lack of instruction is horribly confusing - even the bellhop mentioned that. By our 4th day we had it somewhat figured out.
Lastly, we were very surprised that as a dog friendly hotel (love that) there weren't select rooms set aside for our 4-legged friends. There was a dog in the room adjacent. Lets just say there was quite a bit of barking. And why would you want a big wet dog(it was raining out all weekend) on the 3rd floor with no easy access to the outside? I am a dog owner and lover, and were probably one of the few that never let her sleep on the bed. But most that say they don't are fibbing. The thought of returning and paying that amount of money knowing a dog might have been in my bed makes me not want to return. I don't care how well the room is cleaned. I would HIGHLY suggest setting aside dog-friendly rooms and making that known.
And not sure if my mother-in law (238) will mention, but her heater fan never shut off.
All and all - we truly loved and enjoyed our stay. Your staff, service and drink/food, all wonderful. Loved the bikes and amazing pool/steam.
Truly hope you'll take the dog friendly suggestion to heart - I feel the other things you can easily work out.Lynne f5/01/2026 -
Lovely, elegant, and pricey! Loved our stay here! Great location on the marina, nice view from the room. We loved the pool and hot tub area, as well as the fun lounge and on-site restaurant. The bathrooms were particularly nice and luxurious. Service was friendly. The amenities were all nice. The room rate seemed a bit high (nearly $1000 for one night with tax and resort fee), but I suppose it was because it was a holiday weekend. Definitely recommend staying here. We'd go back, but hopefully would find a better rate!

A quick weekend get-a-way! We stayed at Saybrook Point Marina last weekend and was provided with a newly renovated suite in the third floor. The room renovation was great with a fresh new look.
We have been regular customers, for over the past 10 years. As always the overall facility is wonderful and the staff ate always on their A game! Just a wonderful and relaxed place to be! Enjoy!Rob R5/01/2026 - This was our second trip to the inn for subsequent anniversaries. We had a wonderful time. Unfortunately we had to leave at 10pm before our stay was up due to an emergency with out babysitter 😭. Luckily everything was ok but it was tragic that our one night away from the kids this year was cut short. Either way, im sure we'll be back.Jason Burger4/02/2026

FABULOUS weekend at Saybrook Point Resort & Marina! We had SUCH a lovely two day stay at Saybrook Point Resort & Marina. :) The service was amazing and rooms felt very comfortable. They even gave us an adjoining room for my Mom's birthday which was perfect. The food at Fresh Salt was delicious and service there was impeccable also. Thanks to everyone there for making the weekend super special!! -Sue S.
